Abby's Birthday!

I honestly can't believe my little Abby is 1 year old today! I can't imagine where the time has gone but I have loved every moment with her. She is such a joy and light in our lives! Her personality is so funny (she must get that from her daddy) and she's just a really happy baby. BUT she can be a fiesty little girl too and she's learning some tactics that I was hoping she wouldn't know quite yet (like pulling Ethan's hair and smacking him on the face), however they are mostly defensive tactics at this point. Yes, we're in for it with these two. I've decided I'm going to need a referee whistle and shirt and some yellow flags...So I can call personal fouls and such. Maybe instead of Mom I'll be "The Ref"...

Anyway we did a big celebration in Utah for Abby's birthday (even though she was technically only 11 months) and we're going to have a smaller celebration with Alex's family on Sunday. But today on the actual day of her birth her Dad made her (and me and Ethan) an awesome breakfast of pancakes and bacon (she loves both) before he headed off to work... See pictures...So it was just me and the kids celebrating today...

A few things Abby's been up to:

She wants to walk but only if she's holding on to my pant legs or my hand or SOMETHING. She's still a little timid about going out on her own. She can stand up on her own but will try to fall straight back (no bending at the hips to sit down just straight back) so we don't let her do that unless we're behind her to catch her.

She says JUICE now, it sorta sounds like shoosh...

She gives HUGE cheeser grins but has a certain smile that she only gives to Alex and it's hilarious!

She gives kisses and says MMMMMM, you know like you do when you go mmmmwwaaahhh!

She tries to brush her own hair...It looks really pretty when she's done!

She tries to climb in the bathtub (with all her clothes on).

She climbs up the stairs and then just yells for me to come get her once she's at the top. She does not go down by herself (we're working on it).

She now has two teeth on the bottom and four on top-with more coming in...

When you tell her No no Abby she'll turn and look at you and smile and keep doing what she's (not supposed to be) doing. Yep we're in for it all right!
