We decided to go to the Livestock Show and Rodeo on the last day it was happenin' (March 22nd, I think). For all you non Houstonians the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a pretty big deal and it lasts for about a month and usually has pretty big name country stars (and non country stars) who come and do a concert each night after the rodeo. We didn't get to go to any concerts this year, mostly because my Dad usually comes down for the rodeo, and since he didn't come down this year we just decided to go to the carnival, petting zoo, and go see all the animals...It was a beautiful day and it wasn't too crowded, it was a fun family day!

This is a fun little kid thing to do, they gave the kids an apron and a bucket and they could do farm type things (milk a fake cow, plant a fake seed and grow a fake veggie, brush the wool of the sheep, feed the fake chickens and get a wooden egg) once they collected all these things they took them to the farmer's market and got a fake dollar for all their hard work. Then with the fake dollar they got to buy a real snack (chips, apple juice...). What a fun thing and Ethan really got into it! Maybe he's a farm boy at heart (just like his Pa-Pa)...

One of the great things about the rodeo is that actual restaurants set up shop as the food vendors so it's not ALL just hot dogs and funnel cakes, there's tons of Tex-Mex to eat and of course BBQ! Here we are eating our grub!

All in all a great day. The only downer was that we waited in line for 20 minutes so Ethan could ride the ponies and he was so excited about it up until he actually had to get on the pony...Luckily we got our money back!

I miss the rodeo!
I though for a second abby was the grub! She's so yummy, I could eat her up!
You got some great shots of the farm to market thing. Danny LOVED that so much! Too bad about the pony ride - at least you got a refund. :)
For fun! yay for getting your money back...
