I wish I had some pictures to go along with this post but I do not. Ethan is such a funny kid, he always is saying and doing things that make me giggle. And over the last couple months he's really turned in to an awesome big brother for Abby (not all the time but most of the time). As a matter of fact tonight as we all snuggled on the floor with blankets and pillows and a pre-bedtime movie, A Bug's Life of course, Ethan leans over Abby and says:
"You OK Abby? Can you see?"
I thought that was so sweet that he was concerned about her well being and her ability to see the movie. He also made sure she had her little pillow and her blankie. He's a good brother!
Yesterday Abby fell asleep on the couch because she's sick and not feeling good. After she woke up from her nap, Ethan lays on the couch next to her puts his arm around her and says "I yuh (love) you Abby". Now if that doesn't melt your heart then you must be dead :o)
Last week we went with some friends to a Methodist church that has a big playground inside the church building. It's really nice and the fact that it's inside is a big plus in this horrible Texas heat! Anyway I was trying to explain to Ethan where we were going and what we were doing, our conversation went something like this:
Me: So Ethan we're going with our friends to a church to go play...
Ethan: NO CHURCH! (he hates getting ready to go to church, once he's there he's fine)
Me: No, we're not going to our church, just a church to play, it has big slides...
Ethan: Swides? At Splashtown?
Me: No, we're not going to Splashtown, we're going to a church...
Ethan: NO CHURCH!!
Me: OK you know the slides at Chick Fil A and McDonalds, that's what the church has and we're going to go there...
Ethan: We're gonna eat? Chicken and french fries and juice?
Me: No, we're not going to our church, and no we're not getting chicken and french fries and juice and no we're not going to Splashtown but we are going with our friends to a church to play!
Ethan: NOOOOOOO CHURCH!!!!!!
Me: OH FORGET IT! JUST GET IN THE CAR! WE'RE GOING!!!
It's so fun to see my little baby boy turn into a such a big boy and a sweet big brother! He often freely gives hugs and kisses without us having to tell him to do so. He is very strong willed and likes things the way he likes them but for all the challenging moments we have, there are twice as many rewarding experiences! Yuh you E-town!
